CityPreferred

How we are paid, and who sees your request

CityPreferred is free for you. The company that receives your request pays us a fee for it. This page says exactly what that fee buys and what it cannot buy.

Get a local company for the job

Free. Takes a minute. One company that serves your area contacts you.

Service and location
How to reach you
  • One company contacts you. Not a list of them.
  • We email you who it is, so you know who is calling.
  • Not the right fit? Tell us and we connect you with another.

A person checks every request before anything is shared. Our promise · How CityPreferred works

Who sees your request

  • Until a person has checked it: only CityPreferred staff.
  • After a person has checked it, if a company fits: that one company. We email you its name.
  • If no company fits: nobody outside CityPreferred.

What you agree to when you send a request

The box you tick (version 2026-10-02.1). Yes, have one local company call or email me about this job. Nobody else gets my details.

We keep this wording and the time you ticked it with your request, so there is a record of exactly what you agreed to.

What a company pays for

A company pays for a real request: someone who wants the service it offers, in the area it serves, with enough detail to act on and a way to reach them. The fee is fixed in its agreement with us. If a request turns out not to be real, the company is not charged. It is charged whether or not it wins the job.

What we never do with a request

  • Send it to more than one company.
  • Sell or rent contact details for marketing.
  • Send marketing text messages because you filled in a form.
