# About CityPreferred

CityPreferred helps people find a company for a specific job, at home or at work. We publish free guides, check each request by hand, and connect you with one company that serves your area and does that kind of work.

## What the name means

"Preferred" describes fit, not a verdict. It means a company suits your location and your job. It does not mean we have judged a city's companies and named a winner.

## What we are and are not

- We connect people with companies, nationally. We are not a contractor and we do none of the work.
- We have no local offices, crews or vehicles in the cities we cover.
- The company that receives your request pays us. You pay nothing.

## Need a company for this?

Tell CityPreferred the job and your ZIP code at https://citypreferred.com/request. A person checks the request and one local company that does that kind of work contacts you. Free for you; the company pays CityPreferred. Details: https://citypreferred.com/how-we-are-paid
